'Imaginary' Review - Best Addition To Horror Genre

A side story that suggests past traumas from Jessica's childhood and a strained relationship with her father is interwoven with the home drama about Jessica's sense of alienation within the family. Jessica uses her creativity to escape by writing children's novels. Similarly, Taylor and Alice's mother are committed because of mental health issues and Alice lets Chauncey's influence in through her imagination as she tries to regain her footing. As the movie progresses, the mental connection between Alice and Jessica becomes increasingly evident. The remainder of the narrative takes a confusing turn, presenting new histories, world building and rules.

Similarly, Alice and Taylor's mother's mental health issues lead to her being institutionalised, leaving Alice to navigate her own path. As Alice grapples with her mother's absence, she begins to explore her imagination, which ultimately connects her to Chauncey's influence. The film delves deeper into the psychic connection between Alice and Jessica. While also introducing a complex web of new laws, world building and histories that add layers of intrigue to the story line.
